Thanks Pinterest!

If your like me...you get on Facebook, maybe a few blogs, and of course PINTEREST!
It's my new favorite kind of "shopping". You can look but come up with a new creation
of your own to make fun, festive pretty little things!

Here's a couple of projects I have done the past three months.
For Christmas Trevor (I mean Santa) delivered a sewing machine!
I usually get REALLY frustrated with sewing machines
because I always get the bobbin and needle messed up...but not
this time! I finished three pillows in just a few hours!
Sewing is not as hard as you might imagine!
I also decided to make a short table runner for our home.
The "Ten Minute" table runner turned into an "60 minute" runner...

but it was worth it!

I recently did centerpieces for our relief society birthday luncheon.
I decided to do accordion paper flowers with spring colors!
Let me tell you...they are not as quick as they seem to make. Eight flowers
took me one hour. In total, the flowers alone were a about a three hours project!
I painted dowels to add a bit more "green" to our spring getaway!
Here they are~they have an Easter theme to them.

I couldn't find a decent tutorial on how to make the flowers so I just tried it out.
I recommend two-sided scrapbook paper because if not, they are not the most
attractive on the backside. Just a hint from my learning curve!

I dedicate this to "Pinterest"...the website that has inpsired me to do something
for decorating the home, my family and serving others! Three things I love!

Thanks for lookin'...that's all folks!

To everything there is a season, and a blog!

We have finally caught up with the "real world"...as if someone can actually define the "real world"! I have a feeling that this blog will become a family scrapbook and many will be able to enjoy it as long as I keep it up! Hopefully I will get better as time goes on!

Trevor and I have been busy running, working, schooling, running, playing outdoors, and yes..running. Trevor runs for Utah Valley University near Provo. I train for half marathons. So Trevor runs consistently, and I pretend like I do.  In April of 2011 I ran the Salt Lake City Half Marathon. My knees were injured about halfway through but I finished and received my finishers medal. I finished! That's all I wanted after being injured. Now, I train smarter and harder. Working on the consistency. Trevor's season has been great. He heads to San Deigo for half of his spring break next week. Luckily he will be in some great weather and hopefully bring some back to Utah.

Teaching has been a joy. I love my little second graders. They all have unique characteristics. One of my little students asked me for "a piece of lead" the other day instead of a "pencil". I said," ask me that again!" and laughed as I realized how creative these little tikes can be.  I have another that insists she has been on the principals "bad list" this year? There is no such thing! They are so smart. They learn much faster than past generations were expected and I can see that in their own day they will be great leaders and have much influence in society.  They love my husband. They call him "Mr. Weatherman!" They ask if he is coming to visit class all the time. Sometimes he surprises them by coming and they love it!  I teach year round school so I get a break when everyone is still going to work and then in the summer I teach in June and then break to start the new year the end of July. I like year round.

Trevor and I are currently thinking about a summer vacation. We are looking locally and also near beach areas. Maybe Cabo? Virgian Islands? Hawaii? Not sure...if you have any suggestions feel free to spill your vacation ideas!

Wedding photos are long overdue. We were pleased with our photographer and so sad she had to move to TX. We planned on having her do family portraits for life!   Take a look at some of her work!

This is the main picture on her professional website. www.redpetalbykara.com. This was just minutes after we were married at the Timpanogos Temple July 14th, 2011.  Coming up on a year this summer I can hardly believe how time has past. We love each other more and more everyday and find it harder and harder to be apart. I found a book the other day titled "how to deal with being together again after retirement". What? People need books like that? When you have both learned to be sweet and tender and patient....love falls naturally.  Just my belief and experience :)

Do I look like I was in a happy daze that day or what?

 So happy together!
Forever...All Eternity!

We were told not to go the whole day without food as some couples do on their wedding
day. Needless to say...we didn't go empty!
Our luncheon was fantastic * We loved every moment with friends and family!
Our reception was filled with a food fight...
kissing....

more kissing....
 and loving family everywhere!

There is more we will share soon...we have so much from the heart to share!
